What To Apply On Your Yard That’s Both Kid And Pet Friendly?
My research has led me to check out Wondercide. An all-natural cedar spray that appears to work well for reducing the flea and tick population. Hundreds of 5 star reviews are on Amazon. It was featured on Shark Tank (they got a deal). This spring and summer we’ll be testing it out, so look for our ongoing updates.
Pricing is for our 4+ acre yard is a bit of an investment. As I write this, it’s at over $200 per gallon and I’d need at least 2 gallons to cover my yard. Additionally, it needs to be re-applied every month. Here in Connecticut we spend around 8 months enjoying our yard – so I’d have to budget annually around $1,600 per year for tick control.
About Wondercide’s Shark Tank Appearance:
Wondercide was featured on Season 7 of Shark Tank, where founders Stephanie Boone and Laura Alter pitched their line of natural, plant-based pest control products. They sought a $500,000 investment for 5% equity. Lori Greiner offered $500,000 for 3% equity, plus a $0.50 royalty per unit sold until the investment was repaid, which they accepted on the show.
However, the deal with Lori Greiner was never finalized. After the show, Boone and Alter decided not to proceed with the agreement, choosing instead to grow the company independently.
Despite not closing the deal, Wondercide experienced significant growth following their Shark Tank appearance. The company expanded into major retailers like PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus, and as of April 2024, reported annual revenues of approximately $6.5 million.
In August 2023, Stephanie Boone stepped down as CEO to pursue mentorship and investment opportunities, with Brad Locke taking over as company president.
Overall, Wondercide’s Shark Tank appearance provided valuable exposure, contributing to its continued success even without a finalized deal.
